The Atlantic is Entering the Most Active Weeks of Hurricane Season

Tropical Storms Kyle and Josephine both formed in the Atlantic this week. Neither storms are expected to impact the United States. As of this afternoon both storms have 40 mph winds. Kyle is just off the coast of Virginia and Josephine is in the lower central Atlantic. Even though these storms don’t pose a threat, we are now entering the most active weeks of hurricane season. The weeks from August 20 to October 1 are historically the most active weeks in the hurricane season with the week of September 10th being the peak of the season. Now is the time to have a plan and be prepared in case a storm does impact the US. Multiple weather agencies are predicting an above average season with multiple major hurricanes.
