Tropical Depression Six Forms In The Atlantic Likely To Be Tropical Storm Later Today

The area of concern that we have been watching in the Atlantic Ocean for the past few days was upgraded to a Tropical Depression and will likely be upgraded again later today as the storm continues to look more organized.  This storm will likely be the sixth named storm of the season.  The conditions will be good for development over the next couple of days, though the steering currents will likely steer this system away from landfall in the U.S. though this could change depending on the speed and strength of the storm.  We are also watching another tropical wave that is coming off the African coast, which could also have a decent chance for development. We are currently in the peak of hurricane season and this is the time we typically see the most activity in the Atlantic.  We will continue to monitor this storm over the coming days and provide updates as they are available.
