Tropical Development Possible In Gulf of Mexico

There is the possibility of a tropical system developing over the weekend in the Gulf.  We currently don’t believe that this system will be a huge threat other than some possible flooding and rip currents along the Gulf coast.  This system will likely bring rain and rip currents to Florida Monday into Tuesday even if it is not a tropical depression or tropical storm at the time.  The NHC is currently giving this system a 20% chance of developing into a tropical system in the next 5 days.  Looking at the different model runs we do not currently believe that this system will amount to much.  We are currently giving this a 0% chance of developing into a hurricane, a 40% chance of developing into a tropical depression and a 20% chance of developing into a tropical storm.  We will continue to monitor this system and provide updates as needed.  Be sure to download our Hurricane Tracker on Android and Apple devices.  Also be sure to like us on Facebook for the most recent information on Severe Weather.  Thanks for making us your #1 source for severe weather.
