TROPICAL STORM ERIKA NOT LIKELY TO BECOME A HURRICANE WILL MAKE LANDFALL IN FLORIDA

Tropical Storm Erika is not likely to be a direct impact to the Carolina’s and is eyeing the southern tip of Florida.  Erika will likely bring tropical storm force winds to Florida and some heavy rain and flooding.  Tropical Storm Erika isn’t looking to be much of a threat to the Carolina’s right now other than some rain we may get from the storm though this is subject to change, but we believe the largest impact of Erika will be felt in Florida.  We will continue to monitor this system and update as needed.  We have provided the latest set of maps and data on Tropical Storm Erika below.  There was little change in Erika’s strength overnight but the track shifted slightly to the west, which is why Florida will now take most of the storms force, which will likely be 50-60 mph winds and heavy rain. Rain amounts will likely be in the 4-8″ range from this system. This track is still subject to change over the coming days so be sure to like us on Facebook and check back with us daily.
