Area in Caribbean Has 90% Chance of Development

An area in the Caribbean Sea has a 90% chance of developing into a tropical system over the next 5 days.  This system is known as 97L and has slowly been gaining composure and getting more organized.  Thunderstorm activity has really increased over the past 24 hours and this system could possibly become a tropical storm within the next 48 hours.  As it looks right now this system won’t be a threat to the United States though this could change. I believe that the track of this system will keep it from intensifying too rapidly.  Also the speed that this system is moving will hinder the development.  We will continue to monitor this system and provide updates as needed.
