Sub-Tropical Storm Ana to Affect North Carolina, South Carolina & Virginia

Sub-Tropical Storm Ana formed in the Atlantic today and currently has sustained winds of 40 mph with gusts to 45 mph. The winds will likely remain around 35-45 mph before making landfall near Myrtle Beach, SC Saturday afternoon/night.  The storm will then curve into North Carolina and Virginia and then likely skirt the United States coast before exiting into the North Atlantic Ocean.  The storm will bring up to 3 inches of rain to areas with eastern North Carolina receiving the largest amounts of precipitation.  The threats associated with this system will be heavy downpours, erosion, high seas and some tornadoes will be possible.  There is currently a sub-tropical storm watch for certain areas of North and South Carolina.  We will update this page as things change.  To stay up to date on this storm please check back often to our maps which will allow you to track severe weather, tornadoes, tropical systems and much more.  Also like our Facebook page as we will post our updates there occasionally as well as interact with clients.
